Getting Started on your Renovation
Give yourself enough time to plan properly. Follow our newsletter over the next few months for tips on planning and executing your renovation.
Step 1: How much do you want to spend? You won’t know, at this stage, how much it will cost but you need to know how much you can/want to spend. Typically, renovations are funded through a combination of savings, loans and mortgages, and taking advantage of the existing equity of your home. Determine the amount of your savings, the total amount you are willing to borrow and spend, and the extra costs associated with renovating such as, furniture, fixtures and appliances.
