Bathroom Renovation Tips

Renovating your bathroom can highly increase the value of your home. But why wait to do it when you can provide yourself with a tranquil relaxation spot designed for your physical and spiritual needs. Here are some helpful tips to consider before renovating your bathroom.

1. Test a tub before you purchase it. You don't need to buy bigger to be satisfied. A 60-inch, extra deep tub works well and provides enough room for you to stretch out without floating away. A key thing is a slanted back and a lip that will provide neck support. Asses your space to determine if having a tub for two people would be doable, they have two slanted backs with the taps in the middle... très elegant!
2. Select durable flooring. A few choices that will be durable and water resistant are marble, ceramic or stone tiles with sub-flooring heating coils which will transform these hard and cold surfaces into something warm and comforting. For something different that will provide a natural warm look and feel, go for hardwood floors.
3. Hang a stylish mirror. A beautifully framed mirror over a sink is much more attractive than a regular mirror covering a wall.
4. Buy a quality toilet. Determine what kind of toilet is best suited for your space. Round models fit better in small spaces but the one-piece elongated bowls, although take up more room, offer far more comfort and are more water efficient. You don't need to spend lots of money but for quality sake, don't skimp too much.
5. Choose elegant fixtures. Choosing common features like a boxy cabinet vanity and a regular rectangular bathtub can make your space look plain and boring. There is an inherent beauty in changing things up with a pedestal sink and/or a classic claw foot tub to create a simple elegance.
