When we first got sent home many of us thought it would only be a few weeks or months maximum. Because of this many of us 'made do' with a makeshift home office.

When the world returns to the 'new normal' it's likely that many offices may pivot and allow you to work from home more often. We've put together some ideas to help you create an ideal office environment.

The Spare Room Home Office

If you're lucky enough to have a spare room it might be time to consider transforming it into a home office. If you still need it to act as a guest bedroom there any many compact ways to approach this. You can add a desk that doesn't have to interfere with the floor space. Adding a built-in desk with storage and a chair that can be tucked away provides you with a clean and tidy working space. An alternative is investing in a murphy bed which has a desk on the back when the bed is put away.

Under the Stairs

For many families, the spot under the stairs is used as a dumping ground. Why not turn this area into a practical desk space which doesn't take up any of your floor space.

In a Closet

Another clever way to avoid losing floor space is to renovate an old closet by adding a desk and working space. This keeps your desk area tucked away and typically tends to be in quiet areas of the home.

A Corner of a Room Home Office

Pick a corner of a room which you don't currently utilize and create a dedicated working space. By adding a corner desk, small set of draws and some shelves you can have a productive corner which doesn't interfere with the rest of the room.
