Vancouver, BC — reVision Custom Home Renovations is pleased to announce its selection as a finalist in the prestigious Canadian Home Builders Association's 2005 National SAM Awards, in the Home Renovations Award - Addition category."As a relative newcomer, we're thrilled to have been chosen as a finalist in such a well-respected, national award," said Todd Senft, president of reVision. "This home truly represents a "west coast" feel that blurs the distinction between indoor and outdoor spaces while addressing the various needs of a multi-generational family."The soaring two-storey addition was built to accommodate a large family including 7 children and an aging grandmother. With this in mind, Senft created an open living space with natural woods and hard surfaces to reduce allergens and many windows to reduce the energy required for lighting. Careful positioning on the sloped lot maximizes the view of surrounding forested areas and river from both levels of the house. This family now has a beautiful and spacious "great room" on the upper level, and a self-contained suite for grandmother on the lower level. The suite boasts a step-in tub and in-floor radiant heat in the bathroom, as well as long landings between stair treads to provide a mini rest area. Space has been allowed for the installation of an elevator should it become necessary at some time in the future.Twenty-two National SAM Awards will be presented at the CHBA's National Conference on February 25, 2006 in Lake Louise, Alberta. CHBA President David Wassmansdorf said that winning a National SAM is a real honour and distinction. "We have seen tremendous growth in the Competition in recent years and it reflects just how coveted the National SAMs have become…" declared Mr. Wassmansdorf. "The Competition is fierce and the quality of the entries received from across Canada is truly outstanding. The finalists indeed have achieved something to be extremely proud of."view REIST Residence project gallery...About reVision Custom Home RenovationsIn the past five years reVision Custom Home Renovations has become a well respected name in quality, custom home renovations, specializing in energy efficient construction options, refitting homes for independent senior living and unique, beautiful and functional custom wine cellars.reVision actively participates in influencing the industry toward improved standards, accountability and best practice guidelines.
