It’s that time of the year again. Summer is making its way into the West Coast! What could be better than extending that vacation-feel into your home and patio? We believe the best way to achieve this is by simplifying your décor, incorporating nature and utilizing your space. Here are some quick and easy home renovation tips to incorporate into your space.

Begin with your home. It is time to banish the dark fall colours and lighten up! Start off small: replace heavy draperies with luminous sheers, add white or pastel towels and linens, spring clean clutter, incorporate baskets (store fruit, magazines, etc.) and fresh flowers into your bedrooms, bathrooms and kitchen to add function, fragrance and style. Also consider bigger changes like opening up your space more: remove a wall, add windows in sunlight seeking places or re-design your entertaining room. Contact us to help explore more ideas.

Still not getting that vacation-feel? Think outside the box and focus on your back yard. When you are laughing and enjoying the companionship of close friends and family, how can you not feel on vacation? Focus on outdoor entertaining. Transform your patio into an outdoor kitchen complete with a bar to enjoy summer’s charm and a lounge area to catch some vitamin D. Stay comfortable in unpredictable weather situations with heat lamps, awning, lattice or partial roofing.

Make the most of what your home has to offer for Summer 2014!
